John qualified as a Solicitor in 1994 and has spent his entire his entire career working for Claimants in complex personal injury claims, first as a Solicitor and Partner with the national trade union law firm, Thompsons, and then with Trethowans. He has specialised in asbestos work since 1997.
John is the Head of Personal Injury at Trethowans and leads this large and highly successful team of personal injury, clinical negligence, and occupational disease lawyers.
John advised Action on Smoking Health in their successful campaign to ban smoking in public places and contributed a chapter to the Royal College of Physicians report on second-hand smoking “Going Smoke Free – The medical case for clean air in the home at work and in public spaces” This work earned him a spot as The Times lawyer of the week.
As well as his LLB (Hons) law degree John holds an MA in Industrial Relations from the University of Warwick.
