Trethowans advises on management buyout of Southampton’s Borderland Fencing
Hampshire-based Borderland Fencing was advised on a management buyout of their company by Trethowans.
Borderland Fencing, which was started by Mike Jarvis in 1993, supplies and fits all types of fencing, serving a variety of house builders and developers, as well as offering two fencing centres geared towards residential customers.
Mike will continue with Borderland during the transition, with the management team taking the business forward.
The team was led by a team of professional advisers: Lucy Gleisner, Partner at Trethowans, Philip Mettam, Director and Prabin Sunar, Manager at Meridian Corporate Finance and Adam Buse, Client Director at Fiander Tovell.
Lucy Gleisner, Partner at Trethowans, said: “I met Mike Jarvis last year and it was therefore great to finally work with him. Borderland is a well-known local company and therefore it was a pleasure to support this regional MBO. I have every confidence that the management team’s enthusiasm and skill will ensure the company’s ongoing success.”
Mike Jarvis, exiting shareholder of Borderland Fencing, said: “Lucy, many thanks for you all your hard work, professionalism and the odd late night ensuring our project completed on time and with very little stress. You came highly recommended and with good reason, it was a pleasure to work with you and the rest of your team.”
Adam Buse, Client Director at Fiander Tovell, said: “It was amazing to work on this exciting project with a great client and a team of dynamic and focused professional partners. It is a testament to all parties that the process felt so smooth. The best part being that the solution provided to the client is going to help them deliver their strategic aims and safeguard the future of the business.”
Philip Mettam said: “We were introduced to the team at Borderland to provide a new perspective after an unsuccessful process run by another advisor. It was a pleasure working alongside the team to find a solution for them in conjunction with their existing advisors.”
