Trethowans advises shareholders of Unity Farm Holiday Centre Limited in sale to private equity firm

Trethowans, a leading law firm in the central south of England, is pleased to announce its role in advising the shareholders of Unity Farm Holiday Centre Limited in the sale of Holiday Resort Unity and Brean Leisure Park, the largest family-owned holiday resort in the South West, to Foundation Partners, a mid-market private equity firm with extensive experience in the leisure sector. The transaction, which includes several additional sites, marks the next chapter for the iconic holiday destination, which has been family-operated for more than 70 years.

Partner and Head of Corporate, Nick Gent, led the Trethowans team alongside Partner Mark Nixon, advising the shareholders on the sale of the entire issued share capital of Unity Farm Holiday Centre Limited. They were supported by Jonathan Sherman and Gerta Xoxi (corporate), Jenni Wicheard and Emma Clement (commercial property), Kathryn Evans and Andrew Crudge (employment), and Sarah Wheadon (compliance).

The House family, who originally arrived at Unity in 1947 as farmers, gradually diversified into the holiday and tourism sector, developing the 240-acre site into one of the South West’s premier holiday resorts. The resort offers a wide range of amenities including luxury lodges, caravans, camping facilities, and a variety of food and entertainment venues, all of which have been shaped by four generations of the House family.

The sale includes not only Holiday Resort Unity and Brean Leisure Park but also Brightholme Holiday Park, Golden Sands Caravan Park, and other well-known leisure and hospitality venues. These include Brean Splash Waterpark, Brean Play, Brean Country Club with its 18-hole golf course, The View Kitchen & Bar, and wedding facilities.
