Garry’s role is a split role as not only head of the Commercial Property Group but also Finance Partner in charge of financial aspects of the firm alongside our Finance Director Andy Duckworth.
Garry has been in practice since 1992 and at Trethowans since 2000. Garry is a highly experienced Commercial Property Lawyer and actively looks after a number of clients’ property requirements. He specialises in advising pension schemes in respect of all aspects of property transactions including structuring these effectively to comply with the pension regulations.
Garry has a wealth of experience across all market sectors and also acts for a wide range of multinationals and PLCs. His reputation is acknowledged in the Key Independent Guide to Legal Profession Chambers and also Legal 500. Garry’s pragmatic approach to law has seen him described in Chambers as someone who can be “relied upon to get the deal done”.
EXAMPLES OF HOW GARRY HAS HELPED CLIENTS INCLUDE:
- Structured the reassignment of a portfolio of over 1000 properties for a pension scheme trustee.
- Involved in the restructuring of significant property transactions to mitigate SDLT.
AWAY FROM THE OFFICE ...
A keen sportsman (at least when he was younger!). Keen to follow all sports. In particular a long suffering Portsmouth FC Season Ticket holder.
Also a great traveller when a young child permits.
